Meet Lydia Mondavi…
…a true entrepreneur at heart with over twenty-five years in the luxury hospitality and luxury goods market. She has consulted, created, launched, licensed and sold numerous companies all over the world. Mondavi, the owner of The Abernathy Group (TAG), a hospitality and spa resource firm, works with owners and developers to ensure their project, passion and vision reaches the full experiential ability and delivers an entirely bespoke service for their guests while driving profits to the bottom line.
Mondavi has worked with properties such as Twin Farms, Auberge du Soleil, The Dewberry, The Old Edwards Inn & Spa, Makers Mark Distillery, Rosewood Hotel Group, Waldorf Astoria, Mii Amo and many others. Within the retail segment, Mondavi has designed, development and launched products with companies such as Ralph Lauren, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Williams Sonoma and Target. We work with our clients to discover key points of distinction and individuality while showing a true sense of authenticity.
Prior to the launching TAG in 2000, Mondavi worked in marketing for Ralph Lauren and worked as a senior executive of sales and marketing in the hospitality and spa industry. Mondavi also owns wine brands with her husband Rob Mondavi, Jr. Rutledge & Vine is their newest wine passion project, a bespoke wine which is a modern expression of old-world craftsmanship.
Mondavi was born in Atlanta, Georgia and resided there until she married Robert Mondavi, Jr. in 2001. They have two sons, Robert Michael Mondavi, III (14 years old) and Robert Alexander Rutledge Mondavi (9 years old). They live in Napa, California and also enjoy time in their family home in Beaufort, South Carolina.

TAG’s principal, Lydia Mondavi works with owners, developers and management to ensure their project, passion and vision reaches the full experiential ability and delivers an entirely bespoke service for their guests. Charrette brainstorming sessions are key to understanding the entire scope of the project, and to consider all operational options in order to maximize the assets. TAG works with the architects, designers and land planners on land preservation and conservation concepts for the property.

TAG and Lydia Mondavi have worked with companies such as Ralph Lauren, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Williams Sonoma, Target and many more in designing, formulating, developing and bringing products to market for over twenty-five years. We have created hotel product brands and signature scents in luxury resorts all over the world including The Old Edwards Inn & Spa, The Dewberry and The Rosewood Hotel Group. Prior to the launching The Abernathy Group, Lydia Mondavi worked in Marketing for Ralph Lauren based in New York and Atlanta.
